Hyatt House Kuala Lumpur, Mont Kiara- will mark the first Hyatt House hotel in Malaysia and South East Asia. Located in Mont’ Kiara, an affluent suburb located five kilometres from downtown Kuala Lumpur, the hotel will feature approximately 298 guestrooms, a three-meal restaurant, 3,100 square feet of meeting space, a fitness centre, and a sky pool. Scheduled to open in late 2017, the hotel will be part of a larger mixed use development, Arcoris Mont’ Kiara, which will feature business suites, small home offices (“SoHo”), residential units, and a retail plaza.

We are currently looking for an experienced/Housekeeping Manager /to join us in this exciting journey.

This position reports to the Hotel Manager.

You will be a leader that thrives and excels in managing the housekeeping and laundry divisions that have direct face to face daily interaction with our guests. As a member of the hotel’s senior management team, the Housekeeping Manager is a highly visible role with exposure to Senior and Corporate leadership. Your priority will be to ensure the high service standards of Hyatt are met at all times and ensure that we care for our guests so they can be at their best.

An individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and a prominent member within the industry, you will be confident and driven in your approach.You are business savvy and are known for your ability to communicate at all levels, are detail orientated and must be able to constantly maintain high service standards and problem-solve with employees and guests. Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and be constantly hands on and ready to lend expertise within other departments of the hotel.

The Position is responsible for the management of the Housekeeping and Laundry division of the hotel and to ensure it complies to the brand standards of Hyatt Hotels and Resorts
  • Demonstrate a passion and proven results for coaching and leading hotel team members within the housekeeping and laundry division to achieve team success

  • Demonstrate an ability to use Management Reporting Systems in order to make fact based decisions that makes commercial sense and which will benefit the profitability and efficiency of the hotel

  • Previous hotel experience with hotel properties that have over 230 rooms will be preferred due to the complexity of the housekeeping process. Previous hotel pre-opening experience in housekeeping and rooms division, will be a significant added advantage

  • Possess a Degree or Diploma in Tourism or Business or Hospitality

  • Advance working experience with PMS systems (Opera, Reserve, GEM ) will be required for this role, including the use of tools that aid in focusing on guest needs

  • A minimum of 6 years or more work experience in a senior role within an international chain hotel room division and have led a team of room division associates.

  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. The ability to converse in other languages will be an added advantage

    Demonstrate a flair to review all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, with the ultimate aim of managing division expenses.
