Hyatt Cook 3 in INDIAN WELLS, California

Job Summary Candidate will need strong overall line cooking experience on all stations, good knife skills and the maturity and confidence required to work relatively unsupervised. Technical skills are very important, product identification, food handling, and a high volume, high quality background is preferred. Employee referrals from employees in good standing are a plus. Candidates should be able to perform all basic and intermediate cooking skills including preparation of soups, sauces, stocks, frying, broiling. This person may be required to give direction in the supervisor's absence.


Education Requirements

High School or the equivalent.

Experience Requirements

Two to three years in a high volume line cooking position, managing all stations at some point, Pantry, broiler/grill, sauté, griddle.

Personal Characteristics

Friendly and outgoing, engaging, hospitable, very well groomed, articulate (frequent guest interaction is required) clean, neat, and well organized. A sense of purpose, and clearly defined personal and professional goals.

Skill and Knowledge Requirements


Strong knife skills, must have own knifes


Advanced product knowledge


Proven line cooking skill in a high volume, quality work environment


Strong knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment operation, cleaning and purpose


Egg cookery, vegetable cookery, strong broiler and sauté skill, good pantry knowledge


Food Safety card and great food safety knowledge

Job Responsibilities and Tasks


Prep for service, including slicing, chopping, mixing, following recipes, organizing prep


Broiling, grilling, sautéing, searing, roasting, baking, blanching, Pizza cookery, pasta cookery, sauce and soup cookery


Maintain a clean, organized and well stocked station


Provide quick, efficient and high quality menu items, with strong visual appeal and well-seasoned.


Clean as you go, maintain equipment in clean and proper condition, filter fryers, clean griddle, keep counters and tools clean
